We are delighted to welcome Tracie Bestford to the team, who has joined us as our Parent Carer Link Worker.
In the role of Parent Carer Link Worker, Tracie will be working with parent carers to ensure they are aware of local services and support available as well as co-ordinating focus groups and activities to engage with families.
She will work within the community, engaging with key partners to identify parent carers at the earliest opportunity and work with schools, GPs, employers, and the wider community to raise awareness of families of children with additional needs and/or disabilities.
Additionally, Tracie will lead on carer focus groups to ensure carers view and experiences are taken forward to influence change locally and attend meetings to share these views.
Here’s what Tracie had to say about her new role:
“Having worked in community pharmacy for over 7 years as a dispenser and healthy living leader I was delighted to take up the role of parent/carer link worker within Hartlepool Carers. I have a passion for my local community, I would like to make a difference in peoples lives and give them the resources they need to live a full and engaging life.
I cannot wait to get started in my new position and get out into the community and meet with families”.
Tracie will be finding her feet during these very turbulent times and so we ask that you give her a warm welcome if you see her pop in on any of our activities!
