Welcome
Young carers are children or young people who look after someone in their family who has an illness, a disability, a mental health problem or a substance misuse problem.
They may be taking on practical and/or emotional caring responsibilities that an adult would normally do.
With so many adult responsibilities, young carers often miss out on opportunities that other children have to play and learn. Many struggle educationally and are often bullied for being ‘different’. They can become isolated, with no relief from the pressures at home, and no chance to enjoy a normal childhood. They are often afraid to ask for help as they fear letting the family down or being taken into care.

This website is a platform to provide support to young carers. We would like to encourage you to become part of the website and invite you to use our Facebook page to raise issues and talk amongst yourselves. Staff will regularly keep you up to date through Facebook, the bulletin board and list events throughout the year.
